Zag
The object is a sleek, modern candle holder crafted from brushed stainless steel. It features a minimalist design composed of multiple square frames, each progressively smaller, stacked on top of one another to form a pyramidal or tiered structure.
The edges of these square frames appear to be slightly rounded, adding a touch of softness to the otherwise sharp geometric design. At the very top, nestled within the smallest square, sits a single lit tea light candle, its warm glow contrasting with the cool, metallic finish of the holder.
The polished surface of the steel reflects the light, creating interesting shadows and highlights on the white background. the idea start from the analysis of the geometry generated by the movement of a falling sheet of paper that curls in on itself, this object was born: a satin stainless steel candle holder.
Self-produced with waterjet laser cutting, two objects were created following this principle: a square spiral with rounded corners and a single irregular spiral that triples the same movement pattern described above.
The design and self-production of the candle holders. I personally oversaw all production phases of the Zag candle holders.
